Frequently Asked Questions & Tips

About our service; how to prep for your 'shoot'...

  • What does a tour package or photo package cost? Visit our order form page to review your options and costs. Nothing is finalized until you checkout.

  • What areas does Internet Island serve? For GoDirect customers, we cover 6 Vermont counties: Addison, Chittenden, Grand Isle, Franklin, Lamoille, and Washington County.

  • What are your hours for filming tours or taking photographs? We schedule 'shoots' Monday through Friday (daylight hours only). In the spring and summer we can film as early as 8am up until about 6:30pm; in the winter, hours are obviously reduced due to limited daylight. Depending on availability and travel involved, we occasionally will do 'shoots' on the weekend.

  • What should I do to prepare for the shoot? For the most appealing presentation of your home, on the day of the shoot 'de-clutter' rooms, decks, porches, and the yard. Patrol the areas where you want us to photograph. Take care of obvious negatives like: visible trash cans, piles of laundry, scattered toys, etc. You needn't worry about minor details (like some dust bunnies or washing windows to a sheen). Those things rarely show-up in the online photos and tours.

  • Anything else? While the shoot is taking place it is helpful if people and pets stay in an 'out-of-sight' room. Also, for the best appearance, consider temporarily 'hiding' your car, boats, trailers, etc. in your garage, or down the street prior to the shoot. Keep in mind that a virtual tour covers a full 360º perspective of the surrounding area.

  • How much can you fit into a virtual tour scene? With our 360º Virtual Tours we can often cover two adjoining rooms in one scene. For example, we can position in the archway between kitchen and dining rooms and get a very good look at both. Our iPIX technology allows the person viewing the tour to see floor to ceiling, wall to wall. Imagine as if you are standing on one foot and turning slowly all the way around from that position. That is the the type of visual experience we can capture.

  • Who can view my virtual tour? Anyone with a Web connection. They just click on the View Virtual Tour link in your GoDirect Listing. Your tour will open in a new window. To look up, down, right, or left you can use the control button on the viewer, drag with the mouse, or use your computer keyboard arrows, + & - keys to go left, right, up, down, zoom in or out.

  • Can you do a shoot if it's not a sunny day? Absolutely. In fact, often times a partly sunny to somewhat overcast day is more advantageous for providing perspective and more even lighting, especially if we're trying to capture views in the distance or if you have a house with large glass windows and views. In the event of poor weather we will contact you and re-schedule the shoot.

  • If I have questions about Virtual Tour or digital photographs, what are your contact hours? Internet Island can be reached anytime via email at info@vt360degrees.com.
